I'm new to the art of writing across lines of fire.  The sweet additions, like icing on a cake, have failed to adhere.  So now I write with learning on my mind.  This place is fertile ground -- I hope.  My baby-steps are growing.
I straddle the line between old and young.  Concepts percolate through greater minds than mine, making coffee in my brain.  And yet, the taste for me is too bitter.  I dance on a fine line hoping to make my own way.  I'm independent.  Yet so dependent.
I suppose like all fems, contradiction rules my life.
The details and the expanse, like my words now written.  Each small character, stretched out to be read by whosoever will.
Give me time and I may have an angst with my written words made into story.  I need to write the story first.

So now I write with learning on my mind. This place is fertile ground -- I hope.

All ground is fertile to some extent -- it's just that some ground is more hospitable to different things. To further the analogy: with enough hard work, fertilizer and the right seeds, even the most sterile ground can bring forth life and support it.

I suppose like all fems, contradiction rules my life.

Living with a woman, I had to laugh when I read that line. I'm supposed to be the dependable provider, yet I'm also expected to be exciting and unpredictable. No problem -- but like many men, I always seem to screw up the timing ;-) However, I think contradiction is actually a trait common to both sexes. For example, deep down, men want their lovers to be both Madonna (as in the Virgin), and Madonna (as in "Like a Virgin"). I guess that's what makes people interesting -- the balancing of contradictions.

I need to write the story first.

Don't we all! ;-)
