Writing on vacation

Off to visit my folks and their descendants. What to take along?

I'm travelling soon, as is the custom in western society (at least the part of it that sends one sibling to each timezone). All the siblings and their childe progeny are coming together, so that'll be fun. If overwhelming, for a solitary person like me.

I usually take along a tablet of paper and/or a floppy disk or two, and write, in order to make some me-time in the hurly-burly that is family life. I'm kind of between projects just now, though (having submitted the last effort to the "Dead of Winter" contest over on Toasted Cheese.

One problem with writing away from my usual haunts is that my books are all here, at home, where I can't get at them. So one think I won't be writing just yet is that article I promised Janra in my last diary, about Who is that Ominiscient Narrator Dude, Anyway?, just because the books I wanted to cite are all tucked away neatly, snug on their shelves. Next year.

Anyway, Jolly Holidays to everyone!
