This is just a silly idea I had while riding on the bus from the airport to start my second run. I decided to share it, just because.
And other northern commentary.

I am a college student pursuing a degree and eventual career in journalism or writing. I have not published any works, and I am not actively involved in preparing a short story or work for publication. Would this site still be of use to me? I am interested in sharing thoughts and writing ideas with other people who share this similar passion. Thank you for your time.

Working where it takes a full day to get to and where you work every day for 12 hours a day, including Saturday and Sunday, does have a few advantages.
One of them is, when you finally get a weekend, it's a doozy!

I don't think there's been a day yet that I haven't put my sunglasses on - even the day with 80+ km/h winds! I'm glad I opted for the safety glasses with clip-on sunglasses.

One rainy Saturday last November I documented my day in a series of whimsical illustrations. I touched on the usual subjects: my toddling daughter, my sexidelicious wife, our menagerie of beasts and our giggling adventures here at the Gilford Old Schoolhouse.
I broadcast the drawings in a Scoop post along with captions. It went over very well, and was widely surfed. It continues to be widely surfed. It's six months later now and I'm still getting fan mail. Superdiva, who supports the arts like Atlas the world, told me I should offer the story in a printed edition.
So now I am. I've made a storybook.
Want one?

Well, if I try to keep a log of what I've done day to day, I'll get way behind and probably get bored of it. So instead, I'm going to take an idea from boren and pick a subject for each diary and do a bit of detail on that one subject.
Besides, it's too easy to lose track of days here. And the internet went out for 4 days.

Hello all. I thought I would leak here that my next interview on Kuro5hin will be with noted author Amy Hempel. Look for at in the next week or so.
This follows my interviews with Dennis Kucinich and Salon.com's editor, Scott Rosenberg. I really like this interviewing thing -- it gives me an excuse to talk to really cool people. I may well choose to do a lot more of it.
Anyway, I (heart) Write On and I'm excited about this, so there you go.

Well, it's taken me several days to find the time to put this together, but I've had a very interesting week. And by interesting I mean busy. But busy in a good way.
The lag here is measured in days, so this diary runs from Sunday to approximately Tuesday. Or maybe Wednesday. I've already lost track, and was surprised to find out that it's Friday today. Since I'm here for a month, the only particular day I really have to care about is the day I leave for my two weeks off.

I would like to apologize in advance for the spammy nature of the body copy.
At least you can take heart in the fact that I will not be offering you discount rates on mortgages, and I have no advice whatsoever with regard to your potentially flaccid member. Also, I cannot offer you video clips of hot teenage vixens begging to be sexually humiliated.
I'm afraid this spam is much more benign than that. It's more like when street performers spam you by making music, and glancing suggestively at the overturned hat or guitar case at their feet.
Here I am tap-dancing...get ready your nickels and dimes.

On the plane home from the two weeks of training for my new job, we encountered some "light turbulence". I've driven on paved roads that were rougher.
As the bumps continued (still before the captain turned the seatbelt light on and told the stewardesses to sit down) I started to hear a metallic popcorn-like sound coming from all over the cabin... click-click-click-click
