The heart of writing is, basically, ourselves on the paper.  If a writer truly achieves this, then he skillfully elaborated to put himself to the reader--in their mind.  Making them think about their theme, and most of use like to do this by making up a situation and characters.

Good works have a heart, and so it is true to itself.  Something to think on . . .

What you said about watching people make me realize something; I've never really done that.  And I've had trouble describing real people I've met.  I can describe my own characters who constantly prance about in my mind, but not real physical faces.  I'll definitely need to do that to help me lie better. ;)
